Need HWIC

We are converting from integrated T1 to dynamic with ethernet hand-off.  We have a T1 CSU/DSU card installed on our 1841 router.  I think I need a HWIC to handle the conversion.  However I notice on the 1841 I also have 2 lan ports.  Can these be set up to handle the conversion or should I get the high performance WIC?  Which HWIC would I need?  Thanks!

You have a relatively new router, on.board LAN ports are perfectly routable, and you may want to use a different source for information.

You can use the on-board Ethernet and do not need to buy anything.

That sounds good.  I have been told that I need a HWIC because the LAN ports that I have are not routeable and cannot accept an IP from the internet provider.  I have also been told this is no problem on the newer routers and I definitely don't need to buy anything if I had a newer router.

Thank you!

Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!
