Hi guys,

I bought a new 2811 router to practice my exam.
However I am not able to leave Rommon mode, and thats how it was when i first booted it up.
Tried confreg 0x2102 to boot normally but it still comes back to the Rommon mode, please see below:

It may have something to do with the flash which i could remove and maybe put it in a 1841 working router that I have and format it that way?
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, You could try and format the flash on the 1841 router and copy the ios back to flash. Before you format, make sure you have a backup os the ios.

Thanks

John

Look at the router.  Do you see a CF slot?  Is there a CF card in it?  According to the error message above, the router cannot see a CF or the CF is empty.

Hi

Readonly ROMMON initialized
boot: cannot open "flash:"
boot: cannot determine first executable file name on device "flash:"
c2811 processor with 262144 Kbytes of main memory

As per the output either Compact Flash is corrupt or it is empty.

Try formatting the Flash.
