Query about static route

I notice that routers have some static routes and routing protocol.

Does the router need the static routes to be formed first before the routing protocol can be advertise? Or does it worked independently?

Hi Kian,

No you can either have static routes or run a dynamic routing protocol. The word dynamic itself tells you wont be needing to statically configure routes.

Depending on your requirements you could ahead with static routes or/and dynamic routes. For the same destination, if static and dynamic route exists, the static route is always going to preferred by the router.
