 Router?  Switch?  Model #?

Try

xmodem ?

-e   = (Optional) Erases the first partition in Flash memory before starting the download. This option is only valid for the Cisco 1600 series.

-f    = (Optional) Erases all Flash memory before starting the download. This option is only valid for the Cisco 1600 series routers.

What is the issue?

Not booting up due to no ios?  corrupt ios?  ??

I assuming you are trying to delete flash?  If not, what are you trying to accomplish?

Hope this helps...

Ah..

I'm trying to delete IOS in Flash Memory.

Cisco router model is "CISCO 2811"

I bought it a week ago.

But IOS is not listed in. So, because I have a flash memory, I inserted it to the Router.

However, in this Flash Memory, 7000 series IOS was listed.. So  there was no spare memory capacity.

So,

To delete 7000 series memory, I tried but there was no command I knew.

Because of its reason, I posted my question.

If you are able to boot the router, then you can delete the flash content from there easily.

  • to check the flash content and file name - # dir
  • # delete <file system path> <image name>

  • You can also connect the flash on your laptop (if laptop has supported port) and format it

Other thing is you should be getting delete option in the Rommon mode

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/800/850/software/configuration/guide/rommon.html

Thank you for replying.

But, as I referred, NO delete command in the router. So I posted it here.

Hmmm...

what should I do to delete flash memory image in the ROMmon mode?;;

In the Rommon mode, isn't there any other command???

If your laptop doesn't have a supported port, You can get an usb external card reader that will connect to your laptop, insert flash into the card reader and delete it from your laptop.

Ah... I have no one..

hmm. the best method is only your opinion??
