Routing

Hello All,

I have an coreswitch in a facility. This coreswitch is the primary POP for all the Internet traffic. In the uplinks there are Internet Firewall and an Internet Router.

This is the metro link set up. Assume A is primary POP for Internet and B is primary POP for MPLS traffic and viceversa.

Questions:

1. There are BGP running between coreswitch and Internet router. If i give show IP route, the route is learned through external BGP.

Routing entry for 161.178.227.0/24
Known via "bgp 65420", distance 20, metric 0
Tag 65500, type external
Last update from 203.99.192.23 00:33:06 ago
Routing Descriptor Blocks:
* 203.99.192.22, from 203.99.192.22, 00:33:06 ago
Route metric is 0, traffic share count is 1
AS Hops 1
Route tag 65500
MPLS label: none

How does the route is learned, does it pass through the firewall and back back to core switch?

Thanks

You should really post more details about your configuration as the question is unclear.

Please paste the BGP configuration on your core switch.
