I have an coreswitch in a facility. This coreswitch is the primary POP for all the Internet traffic. In the uplinks there are Internet Firewall and an Internet Router.
This is the metro link set up. Assume A is primary POP for Internet and B is primary POP for MPLS traffic and viceversa.
1. There are BGP running between coreswitch and Internet router. If i give show IP route, the route is learned through external BGP.
Routing entry for 188.8.131.52/24 Known via "bgp 65420", distance 20, metric 0 Tag 65500, type external Last update from 184.108.40.206 00:33:06 ago Routing Descriptor Blocks: * 220.127.116.11, from 18.104.22.168, 00:33:06 ago Route metric is 0, traffic share count is 1 AS Hops 1 Route tag 65500 MPLS label: none
How does the route is learned, does it pass through the firewall and back back to core switch?
