Sa-VAM2 Module not detecting in Cisco 7204VXR

Totay we tried to install a SA-VAM2 module in our Cisco 7204VXR/NPE 400 router but it did not work.  We keep getting the  error message

Port adapter is disabled unsuitable deactivated powered off. Any idea on what is causing the problem? I have already upgraded the router to a high IOS than the module required. Is it the problem with the hardware revision of the module and the chassis? THe module is 3.0 and the chassis is 2.6

Hello Srihari,

Try to upgrade the boot loader to the same version as the IOS. You are running 12.1(8a)E and I have seen that older bootloader images can cause difficulties with recognizing newer modules.

If it is still not recognized, could you upload the full boot logs along with a fresh show ver and show diag?

Warm Regards,

Rose
