Hi
I have 1841 router. when it reloads it gives following error.Smart Init is enabled
smart init is sizing iomem
ID MEMORY_REQ TYPE
0X003AA110 public buffer pools
0X00211000 public particle pools
0X00020000 Crypto module pools
0X0002 0X0001A800 Card in slot 0
0X000021B8 Onboard USB
If any of the above Memory Requirements are
"UNKNOWN", you may be using an unsupported
configuration or there is a software problem and
system operation may be compromised
Is it a serious problem.

Hi, kiran
Since all MEMORY_REQ field has a "KNOWN" name(public, Crypto, etc), there is no problem on your router. Don't worry.

Friend
Only time you have to worry is when you see unknown besides the memory address displayed

Is router up and running? What happens if you reload the router. If you reload the router and it goes to rommon mode, then there might be some issue with the IOS.
Paste the output of " show version" if its up. or "set " from the rommon.

Amit
This is a normal boot system message you get and is not an error. There is no problem with his router.

Hi all
Thanks for your suggestions. The router is working fine. I searched in cisco site regarding this message. They had specified to increase iomem size. After increasing the size the message is not appearing.
Once again thx
