SWITCH PROBLEM DUE TO DUPLEX

hi all,

This is sukesh working for dimension data.

I had a small query regarding the switch details.giving the show arp command in the router i was unable to find the switch in lan .Once the port of the router connected to switch was made auto duplex it started showing in LAN .At this moment of time i was able to see it with help of sh arp command.but still unable to ping it. Can anyone of you explain whether it was due to the duplex mode or anything else.

Hi,

are you sure the IP address configured on the switch is correct?

Have you tried to enable CDP on the router and check by issuing

sh cdp nei detail

command?

Check Duplex and Speed Setting

Check Ports in are in Proper Vlans

The switch is configured with a proper IP address.

I have not tried to enabe cdp in it .
