Unable to configure DHCP pool

Greetings All,

Please, recommend how I can configure secondary IP address pool in a Cisco IOS DHCP server.  The screen shot below shows the syntax error I am getting even though I am following Cisco's documentation.

I thought the failed command above would lead me to this mode "R2(config-dhcp-subnetsecondary)#".

The IOS information is Cisco IOS Software, 7200 Software (C7200-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(4)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4).

Working on my 7200 as below using ios below  , your spelling looks wrong "secondary"

ip dhcp pool test
   network 10.0.1.0 255.255.255.0
   network 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 secondary

System image file is "disk2:/c7200p-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T8.bin"

Thank Sir. I am punching myself in the nose.  I wish that was the end of the matter, but it isn't.  I have corrected the typo and still I get the syntax error.  I am beginning to think that I have the wrong IOS image.

You might try typing the network command again and after the mask entry just put ?

It would be interesting to know what your version of code thinks any optional parameter might be.

It might also be helpful if you post the output of show version so that we can determine what code you are running.

Hi ok are you running this on GNS3 in a lab ? System image file is "tftp://255.255.255.255/unknown

The image does not have the feature looking at your syntax output no available option for secondary , if it is gns3 just change the image to a newer release that ios is from around 2007 and try test again
