My understand is, there is no specific meaning for the term VXR.

i think it was for "Voice eXchange Router" not sure though.
or you may even call it "Very eXpensive Router" :-)

VXR is a series of cisco voice enabled routers....VXR means "Voice extended Router"
like u have normal 7206 and 7206 VXR......VXR has specific voice compersion capabalities......

I think its versatile express routing .. if u search cisco "7206 versatile express routing" u get the router 7206 vxr
