I've seen various distances listed as the maximum such as listed here:
I'm looking for a definitive maximum distance for X.21 running at 2Mbps. THe platfrom is a 3725 with a WIC-1T installed.
Thanks.

technically speaking the 15 meter specification is good to 2.048mbs. any more and you can expect data loss.

however when you use cisco cables you will get noise errors at that speed and distance , this is because cisco does not individually screen the cables.

Thank you both for the replies. The link we have would be of the order of 12 meters, so we are within this distance but getting into the area (I suspect) where errors could become evident.
This raises another question, if the Cisco cable's suitablility is questionable, is there a known manaufacturer that does make a cable that won't suffer from this problem? (60 pin to 15 pin)
Again, thanks for the assistance.
