Ready to learn more about Threat Modeling?
Our Cisco experts @Tim Wadhwa-Brown and @Yuri Kramarz reviewed the current cyber threat landscape from Talos directly and what Cisco’s Threat Modelling service has to offer. They discussed approaches to managing risks to your organization and ensuring that your people, policy and process controls are in place to defend against and respond to threats old and new, as they arise.
One of the key messages that Yuri and Tim tried to get across is that every organization is different and whilst lessons can be learnt from general adversary behaviour, to effectively defend your organization you need to consider aspects such as attacker capability, how critical systems and services are built, managed and defended and what business impactful behaviour might look like.
Only when you look at the full picture will you be able to effectively prioritize your defenses. Remember, networks are graphs and adversaries may well find non-obvious routes to suit their motivations.
Our job as defenders is to envisage what these might be and plan appropriately.
