Is there any network load balancer product from Cisco. I have couple of web servers in DMZEE which require to be load balanced in a round robin method. Can I achieve this at the router level itself or any specific cisco product availabe?

Thanks

You can acheive this at the router level, check out this link, there is too much info to post on :)

Thank You Adam for the information.

Is it alright to place the load balancing router outside the firewall? Any special hardware requirement on the router?

Is there any exclusive load balancing appliance from Cisco, like Radware, F5 etc?

Thank you

For load balancing, Cisco have a couple load balance appliance (CSS11501 and CSS11503). There's a module you can buy for 6500's series switch called a CSM.

Thank You David. I need load balancer at the internet segment. I donot have any higher level switch. So I need exclusive load balancer appliance to load balance the web servers in the DMZ.

As for exclusive load balancers, I would highly reccomend Cisco's content switching module for the 6500 series.

I have used this in very high traffic enterprise level setups in the past (of which, one function was to do exactly what you are after) with great success. The only 'downfall' would be that being an enterprise piece of kit, they also have the associated price tag. But on the plus side of that, you could integrate all of your other switching/routing requirements into the 6500 as well.
