Connecting 2 Nexus 3064

Question: can I just connect 2 Nexus 3064 using the 40g supervisor card and have the vlan traffic flow between the two?

Right now we use this Nexus 3064 as a iscsi backbone for our SAN.

So the Servers and SAN connect via twinAx Cables. We are adding and decommissioning SAN hardware so we need more ports.

The idea is to purchase a 2nd Nexus 3064 , connect it to the existing one, stand up the SAN do the hardware change out.

The Config is a single vlan and is attached.

Here is my current hardware

  cisco Nexus 3064 Chassis ("48x10GE + 4x40G Supervisor")

  Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU        P450 with 3980876 kB of memory.

NAME: "Chassis", DESCR: "Nexus 3064 Chassis"

PID: N3K-C3064PQ-10GX  , VID: V01 , SN:

NAME: "Module 1", DESCR: "48x10GE + 4x40G Supervisor"

PID: N3K-C3064PQ-10GX  , VID: V01 , SN:

Any help is appreciated.

thanks

Here an awesome link for the config for VPC.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus3000/sw/layer2/503_U2_1/b_Cisco_n3k_layer2_config_guide_503_U2_1/b_Cisco_n3k_layer2_config_gd_503_U2_1_chapter_01000.html#concept_024CD47D138943378E343AF6AE408C3D

One thing to remember there is an order you have to follow to bring up the VPC correctly. If you follow the doc you’ll be good to go.

I made a VPC using the 40G ports (for peer-link and the keepalive link) on a couple of 3172 Nexus switches with no problem.

thanks for the idea, any way you could show me how your Config is setup?
