we are in a process of designing a New DC having reseliency, redundancy, security, FT,scalability & future growth.
It there any best practice to follow. We are planning to use 6500 with Service modules.
Can anyone suggest the various blocks DC block, CORE block , Campus block & their physical interconnections.

Hi!
Good Day! I would add that you read the design guides. But for the hardware, it is a good choice to have a 6500 for core. What you can do is get an enhanced version of the 6500. Either get a redundant chassis or redundant supervisor. Of course, you should have redundant power supplies. Always, try to eliminate a single point of failure. A dual-core would be good for resiliency and high availability but cost would be another issue. You can use either HSRP or GLBP. Use gigabit modules for uplink. Cisco 3750G EMI switches would be well for DC blocks and Cisco 2950 switches for Campus blocks. Use Gigabit uplinks to the core. You can also have a Firewall Service Module for Security. This setup would be well enough for scalability and future growth.

Check out our SRNDs (Solution Reference Network Design). The SRND recommend designs that have been tested in large labs and verified to work in customer evnironments.
