Do the integrated 10 GigabitEthernet interfaces on the Nexus 5000 and the interfaces on the 32-port 10 GigabitEthernet linecard for the Nexus 7000 support GigabitEthernet connectivity also or just 10Gig? If not, how do I uplink GigabitEthernet ports directly to the Nexus 7000 over fiber?
Thanks in advance!

We will have a 48-port 1G fiber module available for the Nexus 7000 very soon, December 2008 or so.
On the Nexus 5020 you can connect GE servers to the first 16 ports.
Hope this helps.
Please rate.

Our Cisco rep recently told us the same thing. Thanks for the reply.

Can you buy
Cisco Nexus 7000 Series 48-Port 10/100/1000 Ethernet Module with 40 Gbps Fabric
N7K-M148GT-11 ?
Is it available ?

Yes, the N7K-M248GT-11 module with RJ45 copper interfaces has been available since Nexus 7000 was made available early this year.
It is the SFP version of that module supporting fiber interfaces that will be available very soon.
Hope this clarifies.

Yes the 5010 can connect on the first 8 ports at 1 gig and the 5020 can use the first 16 ports.
The 7k has a 68 port sfp based blade that allows 1 gig..
