Hello all. Is there a special line card i need on the cat6509 switch for the uplink connectivity from a nexus 5010 access switch?
I was thinking of putting a 10g line card but they are very costly for my client at the moment. Can i use an ordinary 10/100/1000 line card?
Please help as am specing the cat6509, already put a supervisor 720-10g for future migration to unified computing.
Regards.

Hey,
We use 4 ports off the Nexus 5010 to create an Etherchannel group to connect up to the 6506 with a 6748 and it works very well. The first 8 ports of the 5010 can be set to speed 1000 so we get a 4GB connection. If you already have the 720-10G, you can use one of the ports in that sup to connect to the Nexus as well.
