Router Cisco 3745. Connecting E1s.

Hi,

I have a router cisco 3745 without networks modules.

I need to connect to this router a lot of E1 (structured or not structured) and I need to know what is the best option in order to connect those E1 to the router.

I am wondering if "NM-8A/S" is a good choice (in order to connect the E1 directly to the router without a utr).

I have been searching the documentation but I don't get enough information.

¿Is it possible to connect E1 directly to the NM-8A/S card?

Thank in advance for your help.

Regards.

Hi

Yes the cards will have inbuilt CSU/DSU so no need for external one.

just plugin the RJ 45 taken out from ur DDF or MDF onto the router..

Hi

E1 is of 2048Kbps which is not supported by any of the A/S cards.

They can only support a max of 128Kbps and also can support 64Kbps.

if you need to have 2Mbps speed then you need to check out for NM-4T cards or if its ok for u with 128/64 u can check out for A/S cards.

do check the support matrix avl for 3745 chasis..

Hi,

Thanks a lof for your help.

My problem is that, just due to the great quantity of E1 that I must connect to the router, I need cards with which I don't need utr (CSU/DSU).

I have been reading about NM-2CE1T1-PRI card (in order to connect four this cards to my 3745).

My question now is if I can connet directly (without utr (CSU/DSU)) an E1 to the RJ45 connectors of the NM-2CE1T1-PRI card? (I suppose the answer is yes but I would like to be sure before buy those cards).

Thanks a lot again.

Regards.
