UCS C240 M4 with VIC1227 MLOM direct connection to Nexus 9k

I have UCS C240s w/ Cisco VIC1227 MLOM 10G cards. Can I connect these directly to my Nexus 9Ks, or do I have to run them through the fabric interconnects?
