using a VIC 1227 in a c220 m4 as a standalone network adapter possible?

Hi all,

would be great to get some feedback for the following topic:

we inadvertently purchased our new cisco ucs c220 m4 server with the mlom virtual interface card 1227.

can this card be used as a "regular" dual port 10GBe Adapter? can it be configured via cimc?

we are planning to install vmware vsphere 6.0 on the server.

Hi Christoph,

You can use the 1227 as regular 10G ports. You'll just need to be sure to use the correct driver when loading your OS onto the server.
