The UC 500 Software Packs bundle all the necessary files for the UC 500 Series platform. The files include UC 500 IOS image, voicemail and automated attendant CUE software, IP Phone firmware files, and multiple TAR/archive files for various components of the UC 500 (for example vlan information, default configuration files for each product SKU, ringer files for IP Phones, music-on-hold files, background images for colored IP Phones, etc.). The UC 500 Software Packs are thoroughly tested with CCA releases and are pre-installed on UC 500 shipped from Cisco.
For any questions relating to the UC 500 Software Packs please email uc500-swp@cisco.com.

A UC 500 Software Pack contains a bundle of various software components resulting to a large zip file - E.g. 300MB. To validate the integrity of the Software Pack before use with CCA the checksum of the Software Pack can be compared to the MD5 checksum posted here. A program like FSUM can be used to compute the checksum-

11-30-2010 - Software Pack 8.0.5 and the corresponding CUE localization files have been posted on the Support Community and CCO. SWP 8.0.2 and 8.0.4 along with the corresponding localization files will be removed from the Support Community on 12-3-2010. If these files are needed after their removal they can still be downloaded from CCO, or email uc500-swp@cisco.com to request the specific files needed.
Fabian,
Para 4.6.7 of Q.931 only describes an IE in a setup message that will tell the reason for call re-direction. It does not describe how the feature is activated. Again, I could find how that is done If I really wanted, but to be honest with you I do better with a real "business case" rather speculation. If you want to try something, connect a router and a phone in parallel to an NT1 (shared S-bus). On the router enable debug isdn q931, and activate the feature on the phone. Chances are there will be output showing all the details.
However, we have to take this discussion off-line as it doesn't belong here.
Oh well now its May...it just keeps getting pushed back...
WOW! Terrible news..... just can't believe this! No updates from them...it's like we're talking to a frickin brick wall here! Where's the "focus on partner success"? Total bull.
I have been using cli with online help for a while now to configure the uc500, can you please just release a IOS with the feature of CME v9 which is much better than nothing. I just want to demonstrate cisco jabber on iphones and android devices. I don't care about CCA just give me a working IOS.
I can't believe it's been delayed another month, can Cisco please assign more resources to the CCA team to prevent another delay.
The SWP has been delayed only a few days due to one bug fix has been holding up the product. We will be opening up for beta next week.
I have partipated in other betas for the UC500 platform. Should I shoot Anna an email to ask for involvement or will there be an annoncement?

Is there a time slot for a final release ...? The few days now are more than 3 month!
As things are now, we will have legal action with one customer - we should pay the lots of downtime and the financial losses coused by the UC.
The customer ist a lawyer - realy very nice ... CISCO!!!! Thank you!
We must pay the UC, the houres, and the legal action ...
Who whant's to pay this?
Albrecht

First of all, without being a legal expert, I don't see any basis for which a customer can win or even start a judgement against Cisco, or their partners. Read the Cisco licensing agreement (that is implicitly accepted by anyone using their products) for a clarification on the matter.
Then, as promised weeks ago, the UC500 SWP 8.6 that is 15.1(4)M4 beta has now been released, and appears to be identical to the equivalent IOS for ISR routers. That brings feature parity with the ISR routers using CME 8.6. You can contact Navin Albert (nalbert@cisco.com) to obtain it.
If your customer is suing you because of downtime or financial losses then either you've over promised to the customer or have not implemented the UC correctly. I suggest you engage a local partner near you to help resolve any issues.
We have installed a ton of UC5xx and have not had an unhappy customer - our only gripe is ensuring IOS releases are forthcoming so we can support newer phones (i.e 9971).

Couldn't agree more.

The 9971 is supported the this release above. However personally I only recommend 79xx for the best results, as SIP phones, and other models, do too many things poorly, differently, or not at all.
Yep we are running CME 9.0 in our office (ISR rather than UC) and the 9900 support is AWFUL
However we have customers who really want video on their desks and only the 9971 is suitable.
Have opened at least 6 bugs with Cisco to do with 9971 and CME 9.0 though.
Sorry, but we have some Cisco engineer with certifications and years of experience in Cisco products.
The reason is - the UC ist perfect for the US market. But not for europe! There are several problems that not acceptable.
So, if the product is so perfect, give me an answer how to easy configure a ISDN Call Deflection / Partial Rerouting, Call Back at busy ISDN trunk, the translation of phone menus are realy funny, the configuration at the GUI is chaotic (the best way to configure the device is to yuse the CLI) and slow (GUI, only), and a lot of custumers are waiting more than 3 Minth for the firmeware.
The customer i talked about all 2-3 weeks needs to restart the UC, because the UC hangs, several ISDN-features don't work, but a cheap PBX for 200 € can it!? To configure a working fax at a fx port you must spend a few hours if you down't know the lots of special workarrounds.
I can write down a lot of problems - a few you can workaround but not all, so here in germany or the netherlands are several unhappy customers!
I know further firmes - they are not our customers and tey buy a new PBX after 6 Month. Sooooo...
Albrecht
I agree with you Paolo. We have a huge success with the UC5XX products. And is a very strong competitor to Avaya, which is a huge plus for me. I would much rather see a compleated IOS than a broken one. Even if it takes longer.
It seems Albrecht has a the same problem as we have. There is a serious problem with CTI-application which uses CSTA. One of our customers uses a CRM application from a third party which uses a middleware layer that depends on CSTA-based communication. The result is a hanging UC560 which does not only affect the customers telephony but also hits its network (the UC is the main router). Luckily this customer has been patient. We sold the UC560 and a certified Cisco partner sold the middleware. We both and the German developer can not solve this so please be careful before shooting your gun....
Anyway this pack took too long. Is there going to be a new CCA or is 3.2 the version for SWP 8.6 ? I'm still missing the prefix for incoming calls in the dialplan config. Just a simple thing to add and avoids breaking the dialplan-config by adding it on CLI.
