I know that device with SCH monitors its operational and environmant health e.g. configuratoin changes, fan & Power supply status. And that SCH device does not send out a heart beat to cisco backend.
Since I haven’t been able to test SCH/DD funcitons in depth in my lab so I need clarification on following:
1. Can SCH generate alert for Memory/module/port failure of a router/switch.
2. Can SCH device sent any kind of alert before it completely dies?
3. Can SCH or IBMA detect a rouge device in the network?
Appreciate a quick clarification on these.

Smart Call Home does support diagnostic, environmental and log messages related to memory, modules, and ports. You can find the supported messages per platform published in the monitoring details document here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/services/ps2827/ps2978/ps7334/SCH_Monitoring_Details.pdf.
Call Home is embedded in the device with access to real time diagnostics, logs, and environmental data. The goal would be to detect, communicate, and resolve a problem before it results in a device failure.
Smart Call Home does not detect rogue devices in a network.

The CiscoTAC-1 profile should be active and configured to send email to callhome@cisco.com.
