So this started with me getting a Java error when trying to change my scheduled uploads. I was told to SSH into the collector and run the command "sudo service cspc restart" then log back in and try again. Looks like the service might be hung. So I tried, but the collectorlogin password was old. The collector asked me to update the password. I logged in as admin and did a pwdreset collectorlogin 90 and wrote down the new password. I tried to log in to the collectorlogin with the new password and failed. It was still using the old password. Gave up and tried to reboot the server...
admin# reboot
Error occurred while executing query.
Please check the logs for more details.
admin#
Stuck. Can't restart the service, can't login with anything but admin, and can't reboot the server.
Anyone got a suggestion?

Restarted the VM. Now it is completely dead. It seems it will not reboot. Am I going to have to redeploy the OVA? That will suck.

Hey usuee@cisco,
A new OVA should not need be deployed. Can you see if the VM CSPC is back up and running. Is it still not accessible? Try turning off the CSPC and give it a few minutes before setting it back on. Give this a few minutes to process and load back up. Let me know if the CSPC still does not seem to be functioning.
Thanks,
Justin

Powered off the VM for 20 minutes then turned it back on. I got the press any key to continue. Now, over an hour later, there is still only a blinking _ on the console. It does not answer pings, or seem to be doing anything.

Hey usuee@cisco,
Resetting the VM should start the CSPC back up. Can you confirm that you are clicking inside the CLI console that comes up and are pressing an action key, try "Enter". Sometimes this screen will look dead and needs a button pressed to process to the login prompt.
Thanks,
Justin

Yup, hit the enter key over and over and nothing happens. Once I press the "any" key and the blinking _ shows up, there is nothing going on. According to the VMware console, the CPU is running at 14 MHz and is using 400 Kb of memory. It is definitely not doing anything.

What can I possibly do with this besides just redeploy the OVA?

No solution to this given. I redeployed the OVA.
