CSPC 2.7 Upload Profile Creation

Hi all,

From CSPC version 2.7 onwards the default upload templates are no longer automatically made available. You must create an upload profile to whatever service you are using be it NOS, SNTC or PSS.

To do this go to Settings > Manage Upload Profiles > Click on Add Upload Profile.

Once there, give your profile a title and click generate to automatically generate an Identifier. In the following section click Single Collection Profile and select SNTC, PSS or NOS from the drop down menu.

Make sure Export to Remote Server is enabled in the following section, as this makes sure the data gets uploaded to the back-end server.

Under Select Module for Upload, click Upload Inventory, select Upload All Device Data from the Select Devices menu and select Upload Syslogs with a Time Interval and Upload DAV Data as needed. Do not select From Last Successful Upload as this can create issues in the SNTC/PSS portals.

In the following section you can schedule a periodic upload if needed.

Click OK at the bottom and proceed to click the Upload box at the top of the page. You should now see the profile listed that you just created. This will ensure that the data goes to the correct back-end server.

Regards,

Hayden

Hi Christoper,

No problem. I have already contacted the developers to see if we can have the upload profiles automatically added in as before, as it makes no sense to have to create them by hand.

Regarding your other issue, I just tested this out and I am experiencing the same behaviour. In order to fix it the Data Collection Profile must have the same Service Name as the Default Collection Profile for your service (e.g. SNTC). This can be found under the Profile Details tab of the Data Collection Profile. For SNTC the service name is smartnet_total_care. For other services I would have to double check and get back to you.

Once you make the changes above it should appear under Single Collection Profile in the Upload Profile.

Let me know if you still have the issue and I'll see if I can provide some screenshots.

Regards,

Hayden

Hello Hayden, thanks for this information. Maybe this is related to some weird issues I have encountered thus far.

I'm thinking this is why I can't use the checked option in the Collection Profile to upload to the remote server. My job fails with this enabled in 2.7 (fails to upload according to the logs). I decided that maybe If i create an upload profile and then tie it to my default collection profile it may work. I then run the collection profile and then the new upload profile separately which does successfully work. I can view all the collected data on the SNTC portal for my account.

Another Issue,

Also, for some reason when I create my own collection profile It's not showing it under the upload profile to tie it to. Only the default minimal collection profile can be used.

Thank you!

Hayden,

Adding the service name seemed to work, I can now select one of my collection profiles for use in the upload profile section. Not in a million years would I have figured that out.

Thank you!
