Can SNTC discover and collect Nexus 9ks that are running ACI software? I am currently unable to discover our switches with the collector. If it is able to, will it properly use CDP to discover other connected switches?

Hi Nathan,
The collector can use CDP to discover other connected switches, but if the switch isn't directly manageable by it's IP address, then you won't be able to manage it by protocol. What kind of message are you getting when you try to manage the switches.
Thanks,
Lynden

My initial issue was the ACL for SNMP access in ACI. That has correct and the collector is now able to gather SNMP information . However, is unable to discover neighbors via any of the discovery protocols. I am assuming the collector does not know how to get that information for ACI switches since they are not running IOS or NXOS. This poses an issue in keeping SNTC updated through scheduled discoveries. Hopefully this is not the case.
Thanks,
Nathan

What type of discovery are you running? Do you see other switches as CDP neighbors of the ACI switch and yet CSPC isn't finding those?

I will have to look into CDP more, but ACI uses LLDP to discover connected spine/leaf switches. The "show lldp neighbors details" output show the connect leaf switches and their reachable management IP.

Discovery supports LLDP too.

Just wanted to reply that, yes, the collector is discovering the ACI APIC controllers, spine, and leaf switches. I have not had a chance to see if discovers any IOS devices connected directly to the fabric. I will update a soon as I can confirm.
