Error from Tail-end Gateway During Entitlement File Load

lukas.neuburger

During intital setup of the CSP Collectror v2.5.2.1 I receive a message during the installation of the entitlement file.

The message reads:

Entitlement update done locally, but failed on tail-end gateway. No response from connectivity tail-end gateway. CSPC not run without connectivity tail-end gateway.

I've attached a screen shot of the error as well.

Has anyone encountered this error? Any suggestions on resolving the issue.

Thank you,

-Lukas

Hi Lukas,

Could you verify that you have access from the collector to the upload server?

Source IP Address Hostname Protocol Port Purpose
CSPC IP 72.163.7.113 Concsoweb-prd.cisco.com HTTPS 443 Upload to Cisco
CSPC IP

72.163.4.16

172.163.7.60

172.37.144.208

www.cisco.com

dl.cisco.com

sso.cisco.com

HTTPS/HTTPs 443/80 Patching

Thanks,

Lynden

I do have access from the collector to upload server (72.163.7.113):

I ran the command below as root on the collector:

# nc -v 72.163.7.113 443
Connection to 72.163.7.113 443 port [tcp/https] succeeded!

Hi Lukas,

What version of the CSPC are you running? Also, where did you get your entitlement?

Thanks,

Lynden

Lynden,

We're running v2.5.2.1, released in late October. I obtained the entitlment from the site listed below:

https://tools.cisco.com/smartservices/

Hi Lukas,

Did you generate your entitlement or download it? Are you using a proxy?

Also, what set of instructions are you following for setting up the collector?

Here's the guide I wrote: https://supportforums.cisco.com/blog/12696871/self-service-onboarding-setting-cspc-25-collector

I would actually recommend proceeding with the depoyment and seeing if your upload fails. Sometimes there are false messages about entitlement registration during the entitlement application process.

Thanks,

Lynden

Hi Lynden,

I generated the entitlment, then downloaded the resultant zip for installation into my Collector.

I am following the docutmentation provided by Cisco, I'll attach the two PDF files I referenced during the installation, and setup. I saw your guide when I first came to the forums, looks good but did not mention the error I saw.

I'll try to move forward with the setup process, to see if I can push data.

Thanks,

-Lukas

Hi Lukas,

That's the installation guide for the PSS collector. You want to deploy the SNTC collector. You can find a link to it in my blog guide.

Thanks,

Lynden

I completed a data collection and data upload run with the message show in the attached image. Does that look like a successful run? If so, how long before the data shows up in the portal?

Thank you,

-Lukas

Hi Lukas,

I see it in processing on our side. It can take 12-24 hours for it to complete, depending on how many uploads are ahead of you in the queue.

Thanks,

Lynden

Excellent, thank you.
