What's the best way to handle stock (reserve) material with CSCP or SmartNet Total Care Portal? We would like to have all the material in the portal. As some material is not installed it can't be discovered by the collector and therefore it does not appear in the Portal. Our idea was to import all the stock material through a CSV file. That works fine so fare.
But when one of the stock material gets installed it's not recognized as a duplicate in the inventory.
When importing the stock material through the csv file we give the device a dummy name. After being installed the device gets discovered by the collector and now we have to entries with different names but identical Serial Number and PID.
We wouldn't mind if these entries would be identified as a duplicate. That way we could easily delete from time to time the stock material which has been installed in the meantime. But as they are not recognized as duplicate it gets difficult.
Any suggestions?
