Issues installing 2.11

Hello,

I've been trying to get 2.11 stood up now for a few days.  I am installing the OVA on vmware esxi version 8.  The OVA is configured and deployed per the CSPC installation guide.  It boots up and I can set the admin password and IPv4 address.  When I select option 3 to enter the Admin Shell to set the collectorlogin and root accounts, this is where i am getting hung up.  I get the message:

*****PID file exists. But Adminshell service is not completely up.*****
*****If adminshell is restarted manually, please wait for 15-20 mins .*****

*****If adminshell is not restarted manually Please check nohup.out log at /opt/cisco/ss/adminshell/logs for any errors .*****
*****Try restarting adminshell once using 'service adminshell restart' command .*****

I've tried restarting the server several times, it doesn't matter.  I am also unable to get that file nohup.out log to see if there are any errors.

Anyone else having this issue, or can help?  Is this an issue with ESXi 8, because our existing 2.10 install is now having the same issue.

the admin shell is a java shell not linux, likely there is a problem with the upflow of your network setting that is not allowing it to be correct.  try the other way around .. set the admin user but then when  you get the options to chose between setting the IP or going to the shell chose number 3 first .. this way you will be able to set the users collectorlogin and the user root and the true linux  shell and then set the network information

Still does not work, same issue.  I can set the admin password, then select 3 to go to Admin Shell.  A message comes up stating CSPC services are restarting that will take 5-10 minutes.  Once it is done and back to a login screen, i try logging in as admin and i get that adminshell error.

.

ok, after many hours of working this issue, the solution is found in the ISO guide.  follow the instructions for downloading the latest alma linux distro and booting the cspc vm with it.  i was able to login to the shell via console which allowed me to reset both root and collector login users and i now have ssh access as well.
