Items not removing from SNTC Portal that are Unamanged from CSPC

Hi all,

we have a couple of items that we have removed from the network as they have been replaced.  We unmanaged the device within CSPC and then ran a new collection.  Within CSPC we can see the collected data doesn't contain the old equipment.  However, when we look at SNTC portal after the CSPC upload has compelted and been processed, we can still see the old equipment listed.

Have we removed the old equipment incorrectly from CSPC?  If not, how do we remove the old equipment from SNTC portal as I can't see a way of removing it.

We have had a number of successful uploads from CSPC and these have been successfully processed within SNTC Portal, but old equipment still remains.

Many thanks

David

Hello David,

The SNTC portal is designed in such a way that it stores all the old data/equipment. Even if the device is faulty or out of contract, once collected it will still be visible on the SNTC portal.

Even if you unmanage a device from the CSPC, and run the collection. The CSPC will still show the data.

So in order to remove old items, the only option is to delete the inventory and entitlement, and download a new entitlement from the SNTC portal and use it.

Thanks & regards,
Devashish Bourai.

Hello David,

For the SNTC Portal, there is currently no option to remove an item from the Portal on the Comprehensive view.  However you may use the "Latest" view option to see removals and changes on new uploads as they are received.

Thanks @dbourai for the response.

Not sure where this option is that your mentioning.  Additionally, if the equipment is not removed and only a view is changed will this impact on the reports around LDOS under Library > Inventory >Summary ?

Also wha tis the correct way to remove items when they have ben retired or replaced so the old equipment no longer shows up in SNTC Portal?

Hello David,

Please ignore the Latest View option, it was for the older version of the SNTC portal.
Now the SNTC portal is upgraded since then, and longer has those options.
Whatever the SNTC portal now shows, is in the current form itself.

Also, there will be no impact on the reports if you change the view.

Lastly, the only way to remove items which are retired or replaced for the old equipment to not show up on the SNTC portal, you will have to delete Old inventory and the entitlement.

For the new equipment list, you will have to generate a new entitlement from the SNTC portal and run uploads.

This way, the old items will not show on the SNTC portal.

Devashish Bourai.

OK just so I'm clear.

I have to delete the current collector to remove the current entitlement.  Request a new entilement.  Download the certificate bundle.  Go to CSPC and delete the existing certificate bundle.  Upload the new certificate bundle.  Update CSPC so that it uses the new certificate bundle, then rerun a collection and upload to SNTC.

All because I replaced a piece of equipment that was either

1) faulty and dealt with under contract/RMA or

2) is removed/replaced due to EoS and or similar

That sounds like using a sledge hammer to crack a nut.  Surely if I remove a device from beign managed in CPSC so that is is no longe rcollected this would be removed from the upload and then removed from SNTC Portal.
