I have confusion regarding what software updates/upgrades are included in SMARTNet service.
Document for SMARTNet says that it include "Operating System updates".
What is "operating system" in Cisco meaning ? And what are updates ?
1) When buying Catalyst switch with the IOS XE and SMARTNet service attached then IOS XE can be treated as operating system and upgrades/updates of IOSE XE are available within this SMARTNET ? Or only updates ?
Also there is no SWSS support mapped for Catalyst nor IOS so this is the only option when buying a service here
2) When buying ASR9000 there is IOS XR - is this is a "operating system" in Cisco meaning ? For ASR we can buy SMARTNet but we can also buy SWSS/ECMU support for IOS XR PID - what is the purpose of this ? What is the purpose of buying additional SWSS while we have SMARTNet attached to ASR ?
3) Why cisco treat different IOS XE and IOS XR products ? Are the IOS XR only software where SWSS/ECMU can be attached
