I recently setup a new 2.5 collector for one of my customer. I can download the entitlement file just fine. A week or so when I was attempting this I was getting a message that the entitlement file was corrupt when I tried to apply the file. I tried to apply from a Mac so I switched over and tried from Windows and got the same problem. I re-downloaded the entitlement file yesterday and today I am getting the message Unable to read the contents of the License File when trying to apply. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,

Hello,
Can no one from Cisco help with this? Will TAC even assist with this if I try and open a ticket?

Hi kboone,
Are there any special characters or spaces in the CSPC name or inventory name when you created the file? If so, remove those and generate a new one.
Thanks,
Lynden

Lynden,
There were no special characters or spaces in the CSPC name or inventory name. Just for good measure I tried to generate a new entitlement file. I made sure there were no special characters or spaces in this one as well. I downloaded the file, attempted the upload to the collector and received the same message that it is unable to read the contents of the license file. What do you suggest next.

Lynden,
My last response was from my customer's id but it is still kboone you are conversing with. Just didn't realize we were still signed on as him.
Thanks,

When you generate the file, what do you enter for the CSPC name and Inventory name? Also, did you download it directly from the portal after making it, or did you follow the email link to download it?
Thanks,
Lynden

I used jimhudson as the the name for both. Prior to that I used jimhudsoncspc for the name and jimhudson for the inventory. I downloaded directly from the portal.

What is the size in kb of the file? It should be around 11-12 kb.

Yep 11kb

What is your connection like to the collector? Are you doing this through a VPN or on the same network that the collector is on.
You might also want to reboot the server, to make sure the service has come up correctly.
If that doesn't work let me know, and we might have to take a closer look at it.
Thanks,
Lynden

Lynden,
A reload of the box let it take the license file.
Thanks for the help.
