Renaming Zonset basics

Greetings all,

If I wanted to rename our active zonset called abc vsan 21 to xyz vsan 21 on our 9500 series mds. Doing this, should not cause an issue or knock anything offline?

A collegue of mine was telling me that it may knock its zones and members off line when I go to activate the new renamed zonset name. I thought it was simple as :

config t

then issue a zonset rename abc  <oldname>

then enter new name

then activate that new name

bamm done ?

Here is what you will do

conf t

zoneset rename vsan xxx

zoneset activate name vsan xxx

exit

ex:

zoneset rename abc xyz vsan 21

zoneset activate name xyz vsan 21

This should not cause any disruption to traffic
