CBS110-24T LED functions

Hello,

We have several CSB110-24T switches in our office that are working normally except the LED of the ports.
When we connected the switch port to one end of a CAT5e cable (the other end doesn't connect to any device or patch panel), the LINK/ACT LED is off. But if we used the CAT6 and did the same thing, the LINK/ACT LED turned amber steadily.

We did the test with many cables (which are all good) and on all the CBS110 switches we have, and we got the same thing. If we connected a device to the other end of the cable, everything works normally.

We would like to know if Cisco have any document about the CBS110 switch LED indicator, except the one here (link) but we think it doesn't cover the case.

Thank you!

That's interesting, So you having issued with Cat 6 cable, not with Cat5 ?

where is this CAT6 Cable buy ?

CBS110  - unfortunately not much can do these models, these are unmanaged switch, we not even do any troubleshooting on the device level. (they also end of sale already)

Thanks BB for your comment. You're right, the issue is with Cat6 cables only, it didn't happen to Cat5e cables. We bought Cat6 patch cords from AMP.
We know CBS110 is just an unmanaged switch. What we are looking here is a Cisco document that can explain why the LED works that way. And by the way, CBS110 switches are not end of sale yet.

If this only the LED and the port works as expected (personally its not matter) - it may be small defect (you hard to get any quick fix for that from cisco BU) -

Since the product may go out of the line soon as per i have information.
