Console connection prompt with no options

Hi,

New environment running 6 x SG500s stacked. I can connect with SSH and GUI, but when I try to connect via the console all I get is a “>” prompt and there’s only two options, debug and help:
>
>
>en
Unknown parameter
May be one from the following list:
debug             help
>

I've tried different speeds, anything other than 115200 and 9600 doesn’t connect, tried different cables/laptops etc. I get the feeling it could be permission issue but that looks straight forward. There isn’t a “no exec” in the run/start-config.

Interestingly if I set the speed using “line console, speed 115200” it updates the run-config, but “show line console” command still outputs "autobaud" which is set in the GUI. Have also set static speed 115200 in the GUI everything lines up and still get the same issue.

Any ideas?? I’m stumped.

Cheers,
Scott

Hello,

My name is Rozana and I am an engineer from the small business team.

Could you please tell me on which of all 6 units you try to connect to via Console?
By design, once they are in a stack, you can connect only to the stack master.

Regards.

Hi Rozana,

Thank you for your reply, that was a great point - it looks like our master has failed over recently without me realising. I can console to the new master, just about to move it back to where it should be.

Cheers,

Scott
