Difference between CBS250-8T-D and CBS250-8T-E-2G?

Hello,

so far I use the CISCO switches CBS250-8T-E-2G in my network and would like to add another switch.
Here I came across the model CBS250-8T-D.

From the datasheet I can see these differences:
- CBS250-8T-D has a smaller power consumption
- CBS250-8T-D has no USB console port (but SSH is available)
- CBS250-8T-D has no SFP ports
- CBS250-8T-D can be powered via POE

Are there any other differences and are all features from CBS250-8T-E-2G (e.g. STP, Storm control, ACLs etc.) also included in the CBS250-8T-D model?

Hello MarkusD,

Here are the differences between CBS250-8T-D and CBS250-8T-E-2G:

1. CBS250-8T-D is a desktop model (not rack-mountable), D means desktop, whereas CBS250-8T-E-2G is rack-mountable.

2. CBS250-8T-D has 8x 10/100/1000 copper LAN ports, whereas CBS250-8T-E-2G has 8 x 10/100/1000 copper LAN ports plus 2 x GE copper/SFP combo ports, respectively switching capacity differs.

3. CBS250-8T-D can be powered via PoE (802.3af) on port 1 or through an AC power adapter (included in the package). The CBS250-8T0E-2G does not have this functionality.

From a feature-functionality standpoint, they do have 100% identical features.

Thanks

There´s a slite different in the capacity but honestly, not important.

Model                                     Switching capacity in gigabits per second (Gbps)
CBS250-8T-D                       16.0

CBS250-8T-E-2G                 20.0
