HSRP issue

i having a lab setup on packet tracer doing HSRP practical. R1 is the primary and R2 is the standby. every thing working fine.. 

when i shut down r1 interface traffic perfectly routed through r2.

problm is that when r1 interface up. its showing standby.

please attach your file or share a snap for your topology that will help to understand the issue...

maybe concerned about the Preemption issue as i suspect if you want to R1 router back as primary.

hi,

try to give the below command on the R1 on global mode # standby 1 preemt

if your priority default example 100 both side and preemt not enabled. then Primary router will not preemt as master till the other router down.

You need to enable preemt both router.

configure master router priority more then standby

configure a # standby 1 Track interface (outside f0/0 or insidef1/0  )  dcrement -10 0r according to standby router.

need to set decrement number that should less then your standby router so once tracking interface declare as down decrement will happen automatic on your primary router and standby router will preemt it as active till the master came up.

So you Looking when R1 up that should as active instead of Standby (is this correct)

in that case Do you have preempt configured with priority on R1 so when R1 come online that become Active.
