Hi,
I have a switch SRW224G4 from Linksys and doesn't work now after an firmware upgrade!
If is possible, I need that switch so a rapid answer will be appreciated!
Simple, here the result when I try to install the firmware "ls_106-12216.ros" or "SRW224G4P_SRW248G4P_image_v1020.bix" that came from your web site!
Here the result for "ls_106-12216.ros"

hi Guys
this may be a bit late but anyhow I try........
I got h/w v1.0 with f/w fesm-12216.ros
All is fine and switch works however, I just can't configure it remotly.
Here what happens:
1. I connect and got login screen.
2. I type the username and password (as per console config via serial connection )
However all I'm getting after that is blank blue empty screen
It has at the top Linksys srw248g4 etc,,,
At the bottom I have Save configuration.
But thats all i got on the screen.
I have tried IE, Firefox from different computers. Same result.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for participating in the Small Business support community. My name is Nico Muselle from Cisco Sofia SBSC.
On these switches only internet explorer is supported as a browser. However, there might be an issue with what is displayed in IE8.
Therefore, could you please do the following :
The maximum number of connection per server should be limited to 1.
According to this MS article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282402
You have to follow procedure with version 8:
=============================================================
1. Start Registry Editor.
2. Locate the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_MAXCONNECTIONSPERSERVER
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, click DWORD Value, and then add the following registry values:
Value name: iexplore.exe
Value data: 10
Base: Decimal
Note set this value to the connection limit that you want for HTTP 1.1 connections. By setting the value to 10, you increase the connection limit to 10.
4. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InternetExplorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_MAXCONNECTIONSPER1_0SERVER
6. Exit Registry Editor.
Please try and let me know if that solved your problem.

Hi Steve,
Sorry about your issues, after updating the registry settings, did you clean the cache of internet explorer and eventually restart the computer ? I might be that the setting was not applied to IE if this has not been done.
What IE version are you using ? On what operating system ?
By the way, another solution might be to use the IETab plug-in for Firefox, which emulates IE explorer in firefox, you'll have to add the address of your switch to it's settings and it should work fine as well.
Please let me know if this solved your issue.
Best regards,
Nico Muselle

must comment, that setting the number of tcp connections per server to 1 would cripple the browser completely performance-wise, setting it back to 1993 or worse. DO NOT do this. Fix the **** switch.

I just tried updating the firmware in my SRW224G4 using the file "fesm-12216.ros" as indicated based on my bootloader version 1.0.0.06.
Now it's stuck in a reboot loop. Here is the log from Hyperterminal starting from the update:

[2] Erase Flash File
[3] Password Recovery Procedure
[4] Enter Diagnostic Mode
[5] Set Terminal Baud-Rate

It just repeats this over and over. The unit is out of warranty. Can I do anything to get this switch back up and running?
Should I try reloading the firmware again or updating the bootloader?
Any help would be most appreciated!
Thanks.

OK it looks like I may be able to recover the switch if I can reload the boot file. Unfortunately the file I need is nowhere to be found anymore.
Can someone please PM me if they are able to provide a copy of "runtop_boot-101.rfb"? It would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
