Managed switch SG300 - Time setting via SNTP server

Hello,

I'm struggling to have the correct timeon my SG300 device. Manually time setting is for me not a good solution because each time the device has a power down the device lost the time. So I want to use a public SNTP server.

I tried already a SNTP unicast by IP address (128.249.1.1 en 128.2.136.71) or by name (wich are proposed) but the system stay on 11 july 2017.

I have no idea what else I can do ? Is there a possibility to force a time synchronisation ?

Hi @marcvb123

By name is not supporte but by IP should work.  Follow this guide and make sure the switch has an gateway configured.

https://sbkb.cisco.com/CiscoSB/GetArticle.aspx?docid=de72f7b3b2ec41f1b63385627703506d_Setting_System_Time_Dynamically_from_an_SNTP_Server_for_SG_S.xml

Thanks for the reply.

I followed that procedure but there is no time synchronisation that happens.

If by name is not supported do you know public ip-addresses that should work ?

You can try:

128.138.140.44

128.138.141.172

Thanks. But not working.

Maybe I have to check, as you mentioned before, that there has been a gateway defined. Using the GUI it is not clear where I can check or define the gateway settings
