Routed port on SG500

Hi, does SG500 supports ports to be configured as routed ports when operating in L3 mode like those on 3750 series with IP base license?

I checked whole admin guide and all I can find is IP addresses can be assigned to vlan interfaces (even if you assign IP address on the phy port switch automatically creates new vlan for it).

Hello,  Yes the SG500 does support routed ports.  In CLI you can use the "no switchport" command and then set an IP address.  In the Gui, you can set the IP by port. ( IP Configuration - IPV$ address - ADD - Interface = port.

Hi Michael,

"no switchport" is not valid command.

Wifi24(config-if)#no switchport
% Incomplete command
Wifi24(config-if)#

These are allowed commands:
Wifi24(config-if)#no switchport
  access               vlan unaware port
customer             The port is connected to customer equipment
  default-vlan         default vlan
  forbidden            forbidden
general              Configure switchport in general mode
  mode                 port mode
protected-port       isolate layer 2 traffic from other protected ports
  trunk                vlan aware port

Switch details:

Unit             SW version         Boot version         HW version
------------------- ------------------- ------------------- -------------------
         1               1.3.0.62            1.3.0.03               V03

Any idea?

Hello Jernej

The "no switchport" command will only be available if your switch is in Layer 3.

"Show system mode" command will show you the mode.  Layer 3 is router mode.  Please be aware, if you change to router mode (layer 3), your switch will reset to factory defaults.

Changing between L2 and L3:

    set system mode router

or

    set system mode switch

Best Regards,

Hello,

I've got the same problem as well.

I have seen this done successfully, but a Cisco tech some years ago. Though, I didn't see how it was done.
