Hi,
I am facing a slight problem after upgrading my layer 2 3Com switches with SG300-52.
Cisco Air 2602i was working fine when connected to 3Com switch and users are assigned IP from DHCP (Active Directory) but whenever we try to connect 2602i with SG300, users are unable to access the network even ping drops from network
Routers and switch both working on Auto Speeds and also on auto duplex mode
What might be the issue

Hi shrry8,
Thank you for the update. For the port connected to the AP if you connect a PC or anything else for that matter to that port do things work as expected?
Also how are you powering the Cisco Air 2602i? PoE or adapter?
Also let check the smart port roles for that interface. The role should be Access Point is it showing a different role? This can be checked under Smartport > Interface settings.
Regards,
Michael D.

Hello Shariqu Raees Siddiqui,
I am sorry your are experiencing this issue. Without knowing if you are using VLANs I would check if the switch knows about the Cisco Air 2602 via the Dyanamic Mac Address Table. If i can see if the switch can ping the Cisco Air 2602 and also to verify communication. If it cannot then check the port configuration to verify the port to VLAN membership.
Further since you mentioned Active directory are you using Radius for authentication? Is the SG300 configured for that as well since it may be on your 3com switch?
Hope this helps,
Michael D.

Hi Michael,
There is only default VLAN is working. I didn't checked in Dynamic Mac Address Table, in CDP neighbours its not visible however another 2602i is showing which is connected to the same LAN but in different office.
no I am not using Radius for Authentication. Client get connected over WEP

Hello shrry8,
Thank you for the update.
For the connectivity issue are you not able to authenticate with the wireless network or do you not have network connectivity?
Can the SG300 ping the 3com over the uplink?
Do physically connected devices on the SG300 have network connectivity?
What results do you get when you assign a Static IP address to a Wireless client?

Michael D.

Hi Micheal,
We don't have the network connectivity after the router is plugged in SG-300, nor we can ping the router
Since 3Com is unmanaged switch we're not able to ping but can ping connected clients
yes physically connected devices(wired) are working fine without any issue
Its not connected with static IP's as well, even after connecting the router to switch port link still show down status and its administratively UP

Hi Micheal,
Yes anything except AP was able to connect before
using POE # POE30u-560(G)
After changing the port roles to AP, its connected now and working but on 100 Full duplex mode
