SG350XG-24F changes media type on trunk ports from fiber to copper after attaching DAC cable on other port

QAMITS
Level 1
Level 1

Hello Community, this is my first post here and I hope to get an answer for a really weird behaviour.

We have a SG350XG-24F switch and attached to it a few HP ProLiant Server. NICs on HP servers are also with SFP+ slots. NICs are connected to SG350XG via Direct Attached Cable (DAC). On Ports 23 and 24 are optical transceivers connected and configured as trunk port. Via trunk port the switch is connected to other switches on other locations. Also the firewall is reachable via those trunk ports.

Now the issue. I got a new DAC cable with same specification like the other existing cables. It is just a little bit shorter. We have 5m cables and the new one is 3m. When I replace the existing and running cable with the new one on Port 11, my trunk ports on 23 and 24 go down because they change the media type from fiber to copper which is not working because it is fiber.

I have no idea why port 11 affects my trunk ports. Here a part of the log:

You can see when I plug in the DAC on Port 11 the media type on port 23 and 24 change and all VLANs go down. When I unplug the port 11 media type changes back and all is working.

Any ideas? Why can a cable attached to one port affect a total different port?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Andreas
