Hi everyone,
We just implemented a new VOIP system (ALCATEL OXE) but i have a question.
I've created a seperate voice vlan. When a phone is connected to a pc the voice vlan is tagged.
is basic qos mode enough(without further configuration of the basic mode) or do i have to use advanced mode.

Hi Sandor, to expand on this, the switch uses 802.1p to classify traffic. So long as you're using a tag packet, the basic QoS will be applied based off VLAN priority tag (0-7). If you use any untag traffic, it is equal to any other.

Sander,
Basic mode should be fine for your simple configuration.
