Hello !
I'm trying to test the source filtering feature (IGMPv3) of my system connected to the port 2 of an SG550XG switch. Here are the steps I'm doing:
- My system sends a IGMPv3 report to join the group 224.10.10.4 and EXCLUDEs the source 172.16.32.10
- The computer (ip address = 172.16.32.10) connected to the port 1 of the switch sends packets to the multicast group 224.10.10.4
=> The problem is that the packets (from ip source = 172.16.32.10 and ip destination = 224.10.10.4) are forwarded on the port 2 even though my system specified in the IGMPv3 report that it didn't want to receive packets from this ip source for this multicast group.
When I look into the Multicast Group Table in the web interface, it is correct before sending the mutlicast packets :
VLAN Group Address Source Address Included Ports Excluded Ports Compatibility Mode
1 224.10.10.4 172.16.32.10 XG1/2 v3
But when sending the multicast packets, a new entry appears for the multicast group 224.10.10.4 with source address = 0.0.0.0 and included ports both 1 and 2 :
VLAN Group Address Source Address Included Ports Excluded Ports Compatibility Mode
1 224.10.10.4 0.0.0.0 XG1/1-2 v3
1 224.10.10.4 172.16.32.10 XG1/2 v3
Why the Source Address of the new entry is 0.0.0.0 ? And why the port 2 appears in the included ports ?
Can anybody help me ?
Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hi Sam,
Thank you for your post and sharing your observation. In case you are observing the mentioned behavior with the latest firmware 2.3.5.63 also then that needs further investigation.
To investigate the issue it will be better if you can case raise a service request with us. Please follow the link provided below and contact the front-line number for your region to generate a service request.

It will be better to have the Switch configuration file (along with the login credentials), log details, Network Topology and ‘Tech-support information’ from the Switch attached on the service request for investigation purpose.
You may also verify the filtering settings following the link…
