ssh login sf302-08P asks for login then username

I have SSh enabled and working, however when I SSH into this small switch it first asks for login as then User name. The first login doesn't matter what you type whatsoever. It then always goes to UserName. This is wrecking havoc on my auto backups on these switches.

Have you resolved this issue? please let me know as i have the same problem. It seems to me as a bug in the IOS.

No this issue was never resolved, I gave up after spending to much time on it. I do believe it is a bug in the IOS. All of ours do this and I have done a lot of troubleshooting and there are other forums of the exact same matter on this device.

enable ssh-compatible way of password authentication, using command (in configuration mode):

ip ssh password-auth

and then try to connect again.
