Nicholas, delete the image from flash is unsupported. (In other words, you can't).

Tom,
Thanks for the input. If deleting the image that is not being used is unsupported, then how does one update the image on these devices? If i can't delete one of the images I don't have enough room to add the newer image.

It will over write to the non-active image.

Seems I'm not able to overwrite that image Tom. Any ideas?

I realize this is an old thread, but i am stuck with an old firmware on the switch as the one i have that i am trying to make active wont take, as the bootloader wasnt installed prior to this new version. Now i cannot upload a bootloader so it will work, as there is no room. I have tried everything, I am not sure why upgrading firmware is such a challenge. Surely there must be a way to clear the inactive image.
Please help.
