Hey,
The Cisco documentation seems to be unclear on whether the 10G Module is hotswappable.
Not
Not sure what they are saying here.
"Although network modules are hot-swappable, we recommend installing a network module before powering the switch."
What do you think?
Thanks, Pat

Hi Pat,
I have always turned the switch off before inserting a 1Gig or 10Gig module into any 3750X. I do not want to risk killing the switch or the module to experiance if it is hot swapable or not.

It is hot swappable, however Cisco (stated in your quote from the link), myself and probably other members would advise to power down, install and then do the power up. Probably safer practice to follow this method.

Hi,
I would agree with the comments above, first the modules are hotswappable, so they are designed to be able to be installed in a running system, however it is always preferable to not install modules in a running environment due to the risk of damaging the connectors.
Hope this helps.
