Hi,

it supports ip routing...find out what are you running CatOS or IOS..?
in native mode the switch runns on IOS
in hybrid mode the switch is running CatOS on the sup and IOS on the MSFC card...check what is the sup eng you are running and the msfc type.
if you are planning to upgrade from hybrid to native plaes make sure to convert the configurations in to support IOS.

So with this, is this syystem running in Hybrid or Native mode?
If in Hybrid mode, what am I accessing when connecting to the console port?

As Mohammed said, you are connected to the RP nad hence you should be able to execute the ip routing command.
what error do you get when you try to issue the above command

the problem switch, where the version info comes from, I cannot access at the moment, someone else is working on it.
But the other switch, I was able to do IP ROUTING....??!??
Now I'm confused, so I will try it on the first switch and see.
BTW, what is RP?

RP = route processor (layer 3)
SP = Switch processor (layer 2 )

Still cant get the IP ROUTING command on my SW1, but works on SW2....
Anyone have any idea why that would be?
They are both identical....

Hi all,
I am still having trouble with this. My SW1 will not allow me to do the "ip routing" command. Says the command does not exist.
Does anyone know why I can't do IP routing on my SW1 but i can on the SW2? Both are running the same version and same hardware. I am very confused...
