2811 not detecting additional FEs

Dear All,

I am trying to install 2 additional HWICs ( 2*FE) in a 2811 router but it is not detecting these interfaces. I am getting following message in logs,

"GT96K_FEWAN-1-UNKNOWN_WIC: NM slot 0, wic card has an unknown id 53A"

What could be the possible solution ? IOS version on Router is 12.4(23)

For a 2811, the max HWIC-2FE you can install is ONE. The HWIC-2FE will be supported in IOS releases12.4(15)T9, 12.4(20)T, 12.4(22)T and 12.4(24)T.

Thanks for your response. I was trying to install 2 * HWIC-1FE means there were 2 different single FEs. So it needs IOS compatibility ?

Whoopsie! I thought you had a type-o. In this case, yes, the minimum level is Cisco IOS 12.4(15)T.

But wait ... why is the error "NM slot 0"? Where are you inserting the HWIC-1FE?

The current IOS version is 12.4(23). I tried to install on all available slots.
