2950 unable to transfer ios via TFTP

Hi ,

I'm trying to upgrade my 2950G-24-EI via tftp but it looks like the sw can't transfer any of the files completely or with errors.

I downloaded the BIN+TAR  files from Cisco (and from another site)  matching my Catalyst and opened an TFTP server on my PC.

The files are :

c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA14.bin

c2950-i6k2l2q4-tar.121-22.EA14.tar

The problem is that the files can't be read/verified after transfer ends.

The connection is fine as Ialready backed up the existing config+ios with no problems+ping test.

here's what I'm getting:

Hi,

Are you able to ping the ip 10.0.0.13 from switch ?

Are you doing this in a network or have you connected it directly using the lan cable from pc to switch?

If you are doing it in a switch then check whether the respective ports are open or not?

If firewall comes in picture you must check the ports are opened from the source to destination.

If you have directly connected the switch to router and you are doing it using consle login and if you are able to ping the ip of pc in whihc ios and tftp is there, then check the cable status and port on switch i.e.., you may change the cable or port and check.

  If you are getting this error it usually means you are out of space in flash. If i remember correctly the 2950's have space for a single image so you have to delete the current one or if flash has html files in it get rid of those and try reloading the code. Html files are not needed unless you have to have a GUI interface.  Either way you are probably out of space and you may have to get rid of the current image .

I deleted the BIN +HTML files from the flash and completed the upgrade sucssesfully !!
