2960 XL and no L2protocol command

Hi All,

I'm hoping to configure a port as a l2protocol-tunnel. I don't see the command available when using question mark on a switchport mode access port.

Can a 2960 XL running 15.2 utilize l2protocol tunnels?

WS-C2960X-24PS-L

It appears this model can't perform L2p. High probability that the XR can.

if  you upgrade the X to 15.2.6 you can create q in q tunnel (not specific with vtp/stp/cdp)

Closing..

this is an old thread, I know... Just to fix the accepted solution:

#show inv
NAME: "1", DESCR: "WS-C2960X-48FPD-L"

no XR  - can run dot1q-tunnel fine:

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/13
 switchport access vlan 4094
 switchport mode dot1q-tunnel
 spanning-tree portfast edge

but no "l2protocol-tunnel {cdp|lldp|...}"

(config-if)# l2?
% Unrecognized command

so - only software-release dependent, not about X or XR.
